UEFA EURO 2017 – CYPRUS VS CZECH REPUBLIC PREVIEW

With the first ever Cypriot entry in a European tournament, the hosts, our boys will look to shock the Czech Republic and come away with points from this match-up. With Serbia leading Ukraine by 1-0 at half time, Cyprus will seek to make an early surprise and turn the group on its head. Chrysis Michael (Cypriot coach) will look to keep the attacking shape and make the most of the home advantage. As far as the roster goes, the Cypriot National Team has players from APOEL, Omonoia, AEK Larnaka, Apollon Limassol, Aris Limassol, EN Paralimniou, AEL Limassol and also foreign clubs Sporting CP and Sampdoria. With a friendly victory over Ukraine back in April and a sold out crowd in AEK Arena, the Cypriot boys will give it their all.

As far as the Czech side goes, with all their players playing in Czech clubs, but one, Adam Sosna, a member of the Juventus team. The attacker is one to watch throughout this tournament, and this match in particular. The route for Czech Republic to the group stages did not come easy. Finishing 2^nd in the Qualifying round groups and 2^nd in the Elite round (group 8), they have managed to make their 7^th appearance in this competition and will look to surpass their best ever performance in 2006, and go all the way.
