All 14 clubs in Cyprus’s top football division have submitted a joint request for a meeting with the Deputy Ministry of Innovation and the Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA) to address ongoing challenges related to the Fan Card system.

The clubs cite a range of operational and accessibility issues that they believe are negatively impacting matchday attendance and the smooth running of club activities.

Key Concerns Raised:

  • Elderly Supporters: Many older fans are struggling with the digital process required to obtain a Fan Card. Clubs are calling for simplified procedures or exemptions to ensure these fans aren’t excluded from attending matches.

  • Players, Staff & Families: Clubs are also proposing an extension of Fan Card validity to 12 months for players, staff, and their families, along with the creation of more service points outside Nicosia to reduce the burden of frequent renewals and travel.

The clubs stress that unless these issues are addressed promptly, attendance and engagement levels will continue to suffer. They are urging the relevant authorities to act quickly and collaboratively to modernise the system in a way that works for all stakeholders.
