The police did not decline to oversee tomorrow’s Conference League match between Omonoia and Pafos, clarified Police Headquarters’ communications officer, Kyriaki Lambrianidou, in an interview with “Politis” 107.6 & 97.6. Today, GSP Stadium is expected to receive official notification of the decision made yesterday by the Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA), which confirms that the organisation will cover the cost of upgrading the stadium’s CCTV system and replacing defective cameras. Notably, GSP Stadium is equipped with over 100 cameras, but according to the police, 30 of them are currently out of order. Sources from the Politis website indicate that yesterday, KOA President Giannis Ioannou proposed that the organisation send a letter to the GSP authorities today, granting permission to initiate a tender process for the upgrades, with KOA funding the project.
