The Cyprus U17 National Team successfully achieved its objective, defeating Armenia 1–0 to finish top of Group 11 in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers. With two wins and a draw, the team concluded the round unbeaten, collecting seven points and impressively keeping a clean sheet throughout a competitive group stage. Cyprus now advances to the Elite Round, where they will join 27 other qualified teams. The draw will divide them into seven groups, with the group winners earning a place in the final tournament, to be held in Estonia. The Elite Round matches are scheduled for March. Cyprus began the game with confidence and took an early lead when Christodoulos Marneros capitalised on a rebound after the Armenian goalkeeper failed to hold a direct free-kick from Gerasimou. Armenia gained more possession as the first half progressed, but the Cypriot defence held firm, maintaining their 1–0 advantage at the break. In the second half, Armenia continued to dominate possession, yet the best chances fell to Cyprus, with Pieri and Demetriou both going close to extending the lead. The score remained 1–0 at full time, sealing a well-deserved victory and progression for the young Cypriot side, who celebrated qualification in style after a disciplined and determined group-stage campaign.
