Omonoia Aradippou 0-4 APOEL

APOEL made it four wins on the bounce and kept their place at the top of the Cyprus League with a 4-0 victory over Omonoia Aradippou at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium.

Pieros Sotiriou opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 31 minutes after a VAR intervention, before Serbian forward Drazic doubled the lead with a clever finish just past the hour mark. Meurer made it three on 71 minutes with a strike that deflected off the goalkeeper, and Drazic capped off the win in stoppage time with his second of the night.

APOEL were sluggish in the first half but improved after the break, showing sharp attacking combinations and clinical finishing.

Olympiakos 1-1 Paralimni

Olympiakos and Paralimni played out a 1-1 draw at the GSP in the Cyprus League, with João Mário striking in stoppage time to deny the visitors their first win of the season.

Paralimni took the lead on 64 minutes when Laca converted from close range — the team’s first goal of the campaign. But after dropping deep to defend their advantage, they were eventually punished. In the 92nd minute, Pikis squared the ball and João Mário coolly slotted home to level the game.

Both sides had their chances in an open first half, with Konomis hitting the post for Olympiakos and Latcha denied in a one-on-one by goalkeeper Tahlimanidis. The second half, however, slowed in tempo as ENP focused on protecting their lead.

The point was ENP’s first of the season, though they remain bottom of the table, while Olympiakos move up to five points in 10th.

Akritas 0-2 Apollon

Apollon earned a 2-0 victory over Akritas at the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium in the 6th round of the Cyprus League.

Brandon Thomas scored his first goal for the club on 15 minutes, finishing calmly after good work from Duodu. The Limassol side pushed for a second, striking the woodwork twice through Castel and Duodu early in the second half, before finally sealing the win in the 81st minute. Malekkidis found the net after a scrappy sequence in the box to wrap up the points

AEL 4-1 Anorthosis

AEL marked their 95th anniversary in style, beating Anorthosis 4-1 at the Alphamega Stadium in the Cyprus League.

Frantzis opened the scoring on six minutes, before Vukic equalised with a header in the 19th. The second half belonged to the hosts: Conceição restored the lead with a header on 50 minutes, Makris lobbed Panayi for 3-1 in the 77th, and Ferrier sealed it deep into stoppage time.

AEL were dominant for long spells and turned their chances into goals after the break, securing their second win of the season.

Ethnikos 1-0 Krasava

Ethnikos Achna took all three points with a 1-0 win over Krasava at Dasaki, moving to 11 points.

Despite the visitors from Ypsonas creating the clearer chances, they couldn’t make their pressure count. A VAR check overturned a first-half penalty award for Krasava, while Ethnikos had their own chances late in the half through Chebake.

The breakthrough came in the 78th minute when Lomotey headed home from a free kick. Krasava’s task became harder when De Lucas was dismissed on 85 minutes, though their goalkeeper Zadro kept them in it with a penalty save from Andereggen at the death.

AEK 2-4 Pafos

Pafos came from behind to beat AEK 4-2 at the AEK Arena, extending their perfect start with a fifth straight win to reach 15 points.

AEK struck early through Rubio, but Quina’s double turned the game around before the break. In the second half, Anderson made it 3-1 in the 81st minute before Ivanovic pulled one back for the hosts. Dragomir’s quick reply sealed the win for the visitors.

Omonoia 0-0 Aris

Omonoia were left frustrated after a 0-0 draw with Aris at the GSP, despite playing with a man advantage from the 23rd minute when Bourhane was sent off.

The hosts had two early goals disallowed, while Aris missed a golden chance when Goldson blazed a penalty over in the 65th minute. Omonoia pushed late on with chances for Andreou and Mmaee, but couldn’t break through as the visitors held firm.

After six rounds of the Cyprus League, Pafos and APOEL sit level at the top with 15 points each, both unbeaten and looking like the early title favourites – Pafos boasting the meaner defence while APOEL edge it with the sharpest attack. Just behind them on 13 points are Omonoia, the league’s top scorers so far with 15 goals, and Aris Limassol, also showing strong early form. Ethnikos Achna have surprised many by climbing into 5th on 11 points thanks to a stubborn defence, while AEK Larnaca are 6th on 10 after an inconsistent start. Apollon sit 7th with 9 points, still struggling to find momentum, and the chasing pack of Akritas Chlorakas, Krasava and AEL all have 7 points each but negative goal differences that show their vulnerabilities. Olympiakos are 11th with just 5 points from one win and two draws, while Omonoia Aradippou are only one place above the drop zone with 4 points. The real crisis clubs are Anorthosis, languishing in 13th with only 2 points from six games despite their stature, and Paralimni, who are bottom with a single point, one goal scored, and already looking in desperate trouble.
